- Have them keep a daily devotional record of scriptures on God's provision & protection; memorize related scriptures; read Exodus out loud as a family.
- Read Bible stories (i.e. Joseph) and pioneer books with "how-to-do-it's", provision and protection testimonies; also study and identify plants, weeds, and herbs for food and medicinal purposes; read and look at preparedness books together.
- Play games and use "school" books related to preparedness skills and subjects.
- Include children with family preparedness projects and food storage organization.
- Let them pick a survival interest study or project to do, keeping a journal of it; have them do a workshop presentation of something they've learned. For example: candle and soap making; sewing quilts; plant a garden and save seed, build a greenhouse, cold frame or root cellar; cook with food storage; mill flour and bake bread; make yogurt, cream, and cheese; grow a cosmetic herb garden.
- Have an all out survival day (surprise or scheduled) and experience reality! Go camping all the way ... no facilities style! How well is the family prepared to live without technological aid and conveniences?
- Stay news current on Y2K and keep children's discussion of concerns open; pray together God's promises to protect and provide for His people. (Psalm 34:19-22)
- Provoke one another to Love and Good Deeds. Encourage each other IN the Lord.
